What to expect
Please make sure that you have eaten and wear clothing that allows access to your knees, elbows, stomach and any area that has discomfort. Your first visit will be about 90 minutes. During this visit we get to know each other and do a thorough medical intake including your medical history. After we are done talking you will lay on the acupuncture table and I will feel your pulses and look at your tongue. This helps me to diagnose the root of your issues and guides the treatment. At this point, I will have you get into position, either laying face down or up, ask that you pull your pant legs up to your knees and make sure you are comfortable. Once you are settled, I will insert between 4 and 15 thin, sterile, single use needles into your skin. You may have a feeling of heaviness, relaxation or a slight achy feeling. All of these are normal responses. I will then dim the lights and leave you to rest for 20-30 minutes. I am very near, so if you feel any discomfort or anxiety, just give a shout and I will appear. After your treatment, we may do some cupping or gua sha or range of motion stretches depending on your presentation. Follow up appointments are about 50 min and include a short check in on how you are feeling, an acupuncture treatment and any cupping or gua sha that your case requires. Pricing
